4. Controlling a stage

  • The progress of project phases is monitored by the project manager, who intervenes when necessary to correct errors and overcome roadblocks.
  • Team managers act as the link between the individual team members and project manager, they not just coordinate daily work but also ensure that everything goes as planned.

5. Managing product delivery

  • Project manager checks progress of the project against the project brief to ensure that all deliverables meet PRINCE2 quality expectations.
  • Project board reviews and evaluates the completed work phases. The work is either approved or requested for revisions.

6. Managing stage boundaries

  • Project board and project manager review each stage of project development to ensure that the project is progressing as per the plan and meeting all defined project assurance requirements.
  • While reviewing each phase, the project board also decides if they should move on to the next stage or reject the project completely.
  • Project managers direct the project team to record any lessons learned during the development to improve the next stage.

7. Closing the project
